If anything it would probably turn most console players off from Quake entirely because they've been given a speedboat and told to control it with an oar. The inherent problem is that a controller is barely any more appropriate for controlling a Quake game than a DDR mat or a joystick, should the game support those too to get DDR players to switch to PC and flight sim players to switch to FPS? I know that's an unfair comparison in some ways but, honestly, playing Quake with a controller against a bunch of keyboard+mouse players would be such a poor playing experience and such a handicap that I don't think it would actually convince anyone to switch. Sure, they could throw it in I guess, why not? It doesn't hurt anyone. Honestly, whether the game has controller support or not is pretty much irrelevant. Resources and LinksĪlright I actually do totally get where you're coming from here but I think it'll take a bit of explaining to properly get across the issue I have with this and I don't want to just give a joke answer because I'm sure you'll get plenty of those anyway, so bear with me please, this will probably be a bit long-winded.
